Interviewers usually do not start with exotic algorithms. They ask whether you can clearly explain the basic machine learning workflow: define the problem, choose inputs and target, split data into train and test, train a model, evaluate it, notice overfitting, and improve responsibly. They want to hear that you understand what a model is learning and how you know whether it works on new data.
