AI did not suddenly appear because of one magic invention. Many core ideas are old: neural networks, gradient-based training, and statistical learning existed decades ago. What changed was that several pieces matured together: enormous usable datasets, much cheaper parallel compute, and model architectures that could learn effectively from that scale.
