What a strong answer does

A strong answer should be built around a real technical disagreement where the decision genuinely could have gone either way. For example, you might describe a disagreement about whether to rewrite a brittle service or stabilize it incrementally, whether to adopt a new framework, or whether to prioritize reliability work over a deadline. The key is that there was a concrete decision at the end, not just interpersonal tension. If the story is simply “someone was unreasonable and I fixed it,” it will sound less like conflict management and more like self-congratulation.
