What a strong answer does
Before the interview, run your answer through the substitution test. If you can say “I’m excited about working at Amazon because of the scale, smart people, and interesting technical problems,” then replace Amazon with Google, Meta, or Microsoft without changing anything, you have not answered the question yet. You have described why large technology companies are attractive in general. A strong answer contains at least one detail that would become false, awkward, or obviously generic if the company name were swapped out.
